Discover the technique for vaginal rejuvenation

cirugia vaginal

This time I want to talk about vaginal rejuvenation through a novel anti-ageing treatment that also treats vaginal dryness. This need appears especially in the perimenopausal period, which is when there is a decrease in hormone levels that leads to atrophy of the vaginal mucosa, with a decrease in normal lubrication and moisture and even altering the natural flora of the vagina.

In figures, vaginal dryness and painful intercourse affect 40% of postmenopausal women, although this problem is not unique to the menopause. Vaginal dryness can affect any woman, regardless of the period of her life, whether it is due to the use of certain drugs such as antidepressants, contraceptives, etc. or external factors such as stress. Because of these characteristics of the vaginal mucosa, sexual intercourse can be unpleasant.

Applicable to any woman

Until now, the available treatment alternatives have not been very successful. We now offer a simple and innovative treatment that restores natural lubrication to the vaginal mucosa. Although this treatment is mostly requested by women in the perimenopausal period – due to the decrease in oestrogen and thus in vaginal lubrication – it is a treatment that can be applied to any woman who requests it, regardless of the period or stage of her life.

Sometimes the episiotomy scar can cause discomfort or discomfort during sexual intercourse. With the vaginal rejuvenation technique, there is also a noticeable improvement in these cases.

A simple treatment

The technique consists of using an injectable preparation for the vaginal area, made up of hyaluronic acid and Mannitol, achieving biostimulation and rehydration of the mucosa, which leads to the disappearance of atrophy. For best results, vaginal injection is combined with injection into the labia majora, as hormonal changes cause them to lose turgor and expose the vagina, thus perpetuating vaginal dryness. In addition, when treated, the labia majora are filled in more, which closes the vagina and promotes a moist atmosphere.

The effects of the treatment begin to be felt within a few days and last for approximately one year. The desired effect is achieved through small punctures in different areas, depending on the patient’s level of dehydration. This technique is performed in the doctor’s office and without the need for an operating theatre, applying a topical anaesthetic and combining a small puncture with local anaesthetic in some areas.

Painless and minimally invasive

In this treatment, the patient will not feel pain and, as it is a minimally invasive procedure, no convalescence period is required, and she can return to her social and working life immediately, following some minimal recommendations.

Combinable with other techniques

In addition to improving the characteristics of the vaginal mucosa and labia majora, sometimes the patient also requires reduction of the labia minora (labiaplasty), due to asymmetries or hypertrophies, which cause discomfort and inconvenience. This technique is independent of the previous one and requires a simple surgical intervention, in most cases under local anaesthesia and without hospitalisation. Recovery is quick and, although it is not normally necessary to interrupt work, it is necessary to follow a series of recommendations.
